Andrej Glusgold describes his way of working as a kind of alchemy. He projects his inner world towards the outside by transforming it onto white paper through a magical procedure using chemicals and silver particles.  The subject’s body serves him as means to “embody” his own transcendence. In carefully selecting people, spaces, and accessories, Glusgold strives to depict allegories or metaphors for states of consciousness and emotional conditions. It is the driving force behind the phenomena that interests him most. Archetypes, myths, and the embodiment of the imaginary are the central themes of his work.
